“Spring is in full swing and the summer season for outdoor recreation is fast approaching. Many New York State residents who have lived under pandemic restrictions for the past two years will finally have the chance to enjoy our great state parks, recreation areas and historic sites in the months ahead. At the same time, gas prices and inflation are at their highest level in 40 years, leaving too many of our citizens with less disposable income to take advantage of these conveniences. That’s why we introduced “I Love NY Parks Summer Discount“Legislation to give New Yorkers a break on admission fees so they can get out and enjoy our state parks, historic sites and recreational facilities and keep more of their hard-earned money” , said Sen. Jim Tedisco.
“New York State is home to some of the most beautiful natural scenery in the entire country. The rich history of our great state, coupled with the nearly limitless recreational opportunities it has to offer, offers everything one could need for the adventure of a lifetime. After more than two years of truly difficult times due to the pandemic and now economic instability due to inflation, high gas prices and supply issues, we owe New Yorkers every opportunity to experience the respite they long for to invigorate their spirit. Experiencing the incredible amenities this state has to offer holds the potential to achieve just that,” said Assemblyman Matt Simpson.
