(Forsyth County, GA) Have you made plans for the weekend? From fun in the water to crafts to concerts, here are some events around Forsyth County to enjoy this Mother’s Day weekend

The Cumming Aquatic Center will open the outdoor leisure pool on May 7th. The outdoor swimming pool will be open only on weekends until May 22 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. The swimming pool will be closed this Sunday, May 8 for Mother’s Day. The outdoor swimming pool will be open daily from Friday, May 27 to August 3, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

An American Red Cross Blood Collection takes place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 6 at the Cumming Public Library.

South Forsyth High School continues its ‘Bright Star’ presentation. The show tells a story of love and redemption against the rich backdrop of the American South in the 1920s and 1940s. Performances will be held Friday, May 6 and Saturday, May 7 at South Forsyth High School. For more information, click here.

Luc Latimer will perform an acoustic set of favorite covers and original music at this year’s Mother’s Day Festival. His show is Friday, May 6 at 5 p.m. at 3 Oaks Farm in Cumming.

Latin Party 2022 is Saturday, May 7 at 3:00 p.m. at the Cumming Fairgrounds. Ticket prices start at $55.00. There will be live music and entertainment for the whole family, as well as surprises for mums.

Free comic day is held all day May 7 at the Hampton Park Library. See you for some fandom, fun, and crafts.

May the 4 be with you is all day May 7 at the Cumming Library for K-5 students.

Levi Ransom performs live at The Collection at Forsyth at 410 Peachtree Parkway is Cumming at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 7.

The Sawnee Association of the Arts will present its first-ever “A World of Art Festival” on Saturday, May 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event will take place at the Cumming Arts Center and surrounding grounds at 111 Pilgrim Road. The art festival will feature numerous artist tents, live music and dancing, food trucks and vendors, an outdoor speed paint contest, chalk art for kids, Reading Tree and other family fun! A free concert for Mother’s Day featuring the Song Symphony Orchestra of North Georgia is May 8 at 7 p.m. at the Vickery Village Courtyard in Cumming.

Stop by Halcyon for “Groovin’ on the Green” every Friday and Saturday this month. Listen to the tunes of local musicians while enjoying food and drink at Halcyon’s many restaurants. Get more information about the musical series here.
